Does anyone know how to avoid tanning in sunlight?

Please don't say, "use high level sunscreen", b/c while that may work for some people, it's never worked for me. I keep getting tans and not returning to my normal color. IE, I went a cruise in DECEMBER, and I STILL have tan lines!! And now I'm moving to LA, so it's a concern.... Any serious advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Does anyone know how to avoid tanning in sunlight?
unfortunately you can't avoid tanning, it's in your genes - the skin must protect itself from excessive exposure to sunlight. But you can help reduce the tanning to the minimum.

* as stupid as this advice sounds - it 100% will help - don't stay in the sunlight very much !

* don't wear dark coloured clothes - black and dark colours attract the sunlight, while white and similar colours reject it. It's important because you get tanned while you are dressed too - it's been scientifically proved. Besides, natural fabrics stop the sunlight several times more than sintetic ones - so i'd suggest wearing as many white cotton clothes as you can.

* if you can't avoid tanning, you can get rid of the tan regularly. Use scrub once a week - it's double useful - it will lighten your skin and make it softer too !

* besides, i don't see why you make such a problem of it - most people look younger, fresher and happier when they are tanned. I bet you don't make an exception !

Good luck anyway, i hope this helps at least a little !
Reply:SAME HERE! Except I get lighter by not going out. Well, I rarely go out. I mostly stay home except for school or shopping indoors.

Try asking a doctor. A skin doctor, perhaps?
