Do you use sunblock when you tan in a tanning bed??

some of my friends do and some of them dont, does it make a difference in your tan???

Do you use sunblock when you tan in a tanning bed??
If you want a tan, i would suggest NOT wearing a sunblock on your body, but still make sure you use a lip balm with SPF in it to protect your lips. The tanning lotions that we sell at our salon do not have sunblock, and I know most others don't. That way you get optimal tan results. Try using an accelerator lotion or a bronzing tanning lotion. If you don't want to spend the money at the salon, Walgreens/CVS or any drug store should carry indoor tanning lotion, but you really should wear some sort of lotion when you tan because dry skin reflects 70 percent of the UVA UVB rays.
Reply:Tanning in a tanning bed is the surest way of getting skin cancer.

If you really are so desperate to look baked use a sunblock.
Reply:idk my self but dont go in those my sis doesnt any more after she say final destnation 3 lol in the tanning bed eww lol
Reply:either way, you're asking for skin cancer

be careful what you wish for....you might get it....
Reply:use tanning lotion
Reply:no that is why you go to tanning beds
Reply:ummmm...you are in a tanning bed....tanning your skin. Sunblock blocks the tanning rays. What your friends are using is tan enhancers, not sunblock. What they are using are the opposite of sunblock.
Reply:I have stopped doing tanning beds, but when I was doing them, I wore number 30 sunblock. I would NEVER suggest a tanning bed, or laying in the sun to anyone. Skin cancer has been in my family for that very reason, and often you don't know you even have it. It can be in your scalp under your hair, it can be on the bottom of your feet, it can be in your pubes where you can't see it, etc. Don't do it. Your life is not worth being tan. I use self-tanning lotions now, and have gotten really good at applying them to where they look natural. Loreal Supreme Bronze is a good one.
Reply:I do not recommend tanning at a bed. However, if you feel it necessary and do not want to listen to the health warnings...then make sure you wear sunscreen! Your skin is highly exposed to UV lighting in the bed, so you will burn easily. The sunscreen will give you protection and you will still tan, but in increments. This way you are at least protecting your skin from continuous burning, which can result into skin cancer if you're not careful!
Reply:No. Tanning can give you skin cancer, so first of all, don't do it. But if you choose to, you won't get very good results if you use sunscreen in the tanning bed...
Reply:No the sunblock blocks the tanning bed rays and doesnt get you tan.If you use an spf 4 then thats not going to block the sun much so thats ok.You should use a lotion though. Not with a sunblock if you want a tan.I got my lotion from target. Its for tanning indoors and out and only 8$After you tan make sure to shower and then put on a moisturizing lotion speaking tanning drys your skin.
