Does sunblock prevent tanning?

I got a chemical peel about a month ago and my dermatologist told me to put on sunblock every time Im out in the sun. If I put on sunblock and go to the beach for a few hours would I still be able to get a tan?

Does sunblock prevent tanning?
yes, sunblock prevents sunburn, but you can still tan. ♥
Reply:yes. make sure you wear sunblock!
Reply:sunblock controls tanning, not prevents it.
Reply:yeah. sun screen just helps to prevent the bad rays from getting to ur skin and causeing skin cancer. u should still beable to tan
Reply:Hi there...I think I have the product that you are looking for...There is a suncreen that allow you to tan while you are being protected from the sun...The product is called a "self - tanner sunscreen" Made by Arbonne (formulated in Swizerland) This is so great cos it helps you to tan with a glowing golden colour not an ugly orange colour...

It is reccomended that you spray on 30 minutes before your exposure in the sun...

Please check out the website:

you can check out the products...Its under anti-ageing "before sun"
Reply:Yes, its necessary. Chemical peels are great but will cause increased sensitivity. Your skin will be fragile for up to a week, maybe more..especially if its a potent professional peel. You should actually use a sunscreen every day..preferably one with a reasonable amount of protection and highly moisturizing. Keep in mind the sun ages your skin and you run a high risk for skin cancer each time you suffer burns from the sun. If you're fair complected you need to exercise extra caution.
