I tanned for the first time today in a tanning bed. i felt like i was laying in a coffin of florescent bulbs.?

and that i was microwaving myself. what is the bed actually doing how does it work?

I tanned for the first time today in a tanning bed. i felt like i was laying in a coffin of florescent bulbs.?
The bulbs are just intense UV lighting.


As close as they can get to the actual sunrays.





I find it soothing to lay there quietly for a while without a phone ringing, no one yelling MOM, etc.





But I don't recommend getting in one too often. Ruins your skin as you age.
Reply:What Shar said is true. It does ruin your skin. They are more harmful than the sun!
Reply:ultra violet light is what makes the melina in our skin darken,this comes from the sun.The sunbed is a copy of ultra violet light....which basically cooks you like a chicken.Although effective in quick time,there is nothing like walking down the beach with the sun gazing down,you tan x ten quicker....sea breeze.
