Which is better? Tanning outside for hours every week or going in the booth ONCE for 10 minutes?

I am really pale. To get the same amount of tan that I would get in 10 minutes of a booth, I'd have to lay out every day at 12 for an hour on each side for like, a week or so, but which one is better?

I am personally a very dark complected person, but, laying out in the sun for about 20 to 30 minutes every day is alot healther, tan beds can get too hot and give you cancer. be sure (if you r pale) to put on sun block or sun screen, about every 10 to 15 minutes! a even better way, heathy wise but may not look as good/natural. Is a short spray tan. But still, laying out in the sun is a lot faster, and healthier! be sure to be in a little its bitxy shade spot on your really white and pale parts, becaus pale ppl get burnt easily. It may sound nasty, but to have no tan line, lay out naked. it will not give you a funny looking tan line!
Reply:sun light i go in the sun every summer and i allway's get a even tan.
Reply:For a really pale person, not tanning at all is safest. I understand your pain, I really do - I would have to be outdoors for hours to tan, and it still wouldn't do me much good, thanks to a red-haired mom and grandmom ;-) Having a tan is not a good idea for those of us who are so pale; I'd strongly suggest getting a spray-on formulation, rather than exposing your skin to either of the options you mentioned. The fact that you have very little pigment means that you are more vulnerable than most to the rays that cause tanning; it's not worth skin cancer to darken a little - and I know about THAT, too, because my father has had it.
Reply:The only safe way to tan is the fake kind. If you choose to use a tanning bed or normally sunbathing, then wear sunscreen. Make sure that it is protection from both UVA and UVB rays, so that you help to protect yourself against skin cancer and wrinkles. Also, make sure to apply it 30 minutes BEFORE you get in the sun, and remember to reapply it.
