How to prevent Tanning?

i have an outside job, and im starting to get a farmers tan, is there any kind of sunblock that will prevent this from happening?

How to prevent Tanning?
Use that Aveeno continuance sunblock it is suppose to stay on for a long time unlike other sunblocks that you have to put on every 80 minutes. The higher the number the better it is.
Reply:get sunblock that has a realllllly high SPF: like 55 or something. it will keep like, ALL the sun off of you
Reply:No. Even with a sunscreen on, you will still get a bit of a suntan. Just be sure not to use anything over a SPF 35, because at that point, there are no more protecting agents, just more oils that go into your skin.
Reply:Not really...just take off your shirt once in awhile or, go tanning a few times to get rid of the lines. Good luck!
Reply:Neutrogena just introduced an SPF 70. No matter how strong your sunblock is, though, if you work outside you'll have to reapply it every 1 1/2-2 hours (you'll sweat it off). Also, you have to apply it before you get dressed; clothing can interfere with application. Always apply it twice before going outside initially, then 'retouch' it while you're outside.

Don't just rely on sunblock, though: wear a wide-brimmed hat when you can and dark, heavy clothing to block out as much radiation as possible. Studies have shown that light weight clothing in pale colors allows more radiation to pass through than dark-dyed, heavy clothes like jeans and wool.
Reply:really, its all in the food you eat....you need more dark red fruit (cherries, pomegranates) and cocoa and green tea have all been proven to boost your body's own natural sun protection ability. a great sunscreen is Aubrey's organic green tea sunblock..you should reapply it about every 4 hrs if you don't want any colour at all.
Reply:There is really no way to prevent tanning. Tanning is your body's way of protecting you from the damage of the sun. When you get a tan, what is happening is the melanocytes in your skin are producing melanin pigment in reaction to ultraviolet light in sunlight. UV light stimulates melanin production. The pigment has the effect of absorbing the UV radiation in sunlight, so it protects the cells from UV damage. Melanin production takes a fair amount of time -- that is why most people cannot get a tan in one day. You have to expose yourself to UV light for a short period of time to activate the melanocytes. They produce melanin over the course of hours. By repeating this process over 5 to 7 days pigment builds up in your cells to a level that is protective. So really the only way to stop your farmer's tan is to wear clothes that cover more of your skin. It is still VERY important to use a sunscreen with a high SPF and broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection to help aid in the protection of your skin.
Reply:hhaah my sister has to work at an outdoor camp and has the most awful farmers tan. theres nothing you can really do except slather on gallons of sunscreen.
Reply:I know it might be hot to wear a long sleeve shirt, but my brother does, when he is working out side all day. He also wears a SPF 55. Make sure you put lots of sun screen on and reapply through out the day. Try wearing a hat, as well. The sun will damage your face. Put lots of sun screen on your face too, as the sun will speed up the wrinkle process and give you dark spots on your face, called sun spots or hyperpigmentation. Always reapply through out the day. The higher SPF 55,only means you could stay in the sun as much as 55 minutes, then reapply. SPF 15 means you have fifteen min. with protection and so on. You should also wear sun screen through out the year. Make sure the sun screen you purchase has a UVA and UVB protection. You should go through a bottle of sun screen in one week, if you are using it correctly.
